She has fabulous designs (such as the stunning silver little number that J Lo was wearing)! B. The designer and president behind the label Pamella Roland is Grand Rapids very own, Pamella DeVos. C. Miss Black Michigan USA at Leigh’s! January 20, 2010
We are thrilled! Christina DeVos, Miss Black Michigan USA, was at our store on Friday to select Pamella Roland gowns to wear at upcoming personal appearances. Pamella Roland, designed by Grand Rapids native, Pamella DeVos, sent in several gowns from her NYC showroom for Christina to try. Christina invited friends and family to Leigh’s to help her decide which dress was the perfect gown for her. Rachael Ruiz from Wood TV8′s eightWest was also invited with her camera crew to report on the event. And, why leave all the fun just to a small group? Why not let eightWest’s audience get to vote too?!? That’s exactly where we are at right now…taking votes from viewers on eightWest’s Facebook page. This is decision is more difficult than you may think because first and foremost, Christina is beautiful and, of course, every single gown looks absolutely….stunning! Yes, it’s true! Maia from The Maia Chronicles stopped by Leigh’s today to see the Pamella Roland spring 2010 collection. There she is in the middle with Deb Meijer and Kenneth Marks. She is just as tiny in person as she is in her pictures! For those of you who aren’t familiar with Maia, she has her own blog http://www.themaiachronicles.blogspot.com where she details her fashion adventures with her fashionable doggie family. You must check it out! It was so fun to have her in the store. Of course the Leigh’s team adored having her visit!!! We hope to see her again soon!

Leigh’s was rockin’ last night! We had Laura Mercier’s Face to Face event going strong with some of Laura’s premier artists. Joe DeVries had hoppin’ with music.
Steve was here from Bar Divani making fabulous drinks. We had models showcasing looks from Pamella Roland’s fall 2009 collectioin. Designer Pamella DeVos made a personal appearance. It was so much fun!!! We all stayed late and had a blast! We love our customers and we were so happy to see all the new faces in our store….welcome!

We had a great week in market! We had a itinerary that was jammed. We started our first appointments at 8am and finished most days at 7-8pm. However, we did manage to go to a few runway shows. Of course, we wouldn’t miss Pamella Roland. I have pictures above. Her collection looked amazing! She also had a lot of celebrities in attendance. It was crazy when Paris and Nicki Hilton walked in…photographers swarmed them! Kellie Pickler was also there and I was able to take a picture with her – fun! She is so sweet!
I also am showing you a picture of us at dinner. We finished Wednesday night down in SoHo. We were exhausted and wet….we had been walking in the rain all afternoon and never had time for lunch. We treated ourselves to a fabulous dinner at Cafe Falai. It’s an Italian restaurant known for homemade pastas and pasties…mmmm!!! I would highly recommend it to you if you’re going to be in NYC soon.
This week we will be placing our orders for fall…I can’t wait for you to see the best of the best this fall!

Thursday was a big day at Leigh’s!!!! We started the day off with our Laura Mercier make-up event featuring Global Make-up Artist Luis Soto. As the day progressed, anticipation ran high for our cocktail reception in which Designer Pamella DeVos of Pamella Roland and Nigel Barker (noted fashion photographer and judge on America’s Next Top Model) arrived to meet and greet with our customers! Leigh’s was rockin’! We had a male model greeting guests at the door, a DJ mixing music for us, Erika’s Deli Bistro Market served fabulous drinks and hors d’oeuvres, Laura Mercier make-up artists were giving everyone fresh fall looks, Cynthia Rose and Pamella Roland chiffon gown collection trunk shows for everyone to view and then there was Nigel totally game for taking pictures with Leigh’s customers and friends. I’ve been getting e-mail after e-mail on how much fun everyone had and what a great party it was!! I have lots more pictures than I’m showing, so if you want to have yours, just stop by the store and I’ll have them ready by Monday afternoon. Thanks to everyone for attending and making it a successful event!

Last night’s reception for Luis Soto and Pam DeVos was amazing! Guests enjoyed fantastic make-overs by Lauara Mercier, models strolled wearing uber-sophisticated fashion from Pamella Roland’s Fall ’08 Collectoin and everyone was partaking in Erika’s delicious hors d’ oeurves and cocktails (you must try their food it’s sooo good!). Thanks again to Pamella DeVos of Pamella Roland, to Luis Soto and the artists from Laura Mercier, and Erika’s Deli Bistro Market for making the event a huge success.
