Leigh’s was pleased to host InForum, a professional women’s alliance, at the store last week for a seminar given by Leigh’s merchandise manager Deb Clark on “Blending Personality with Professionalism in the Workplace”.  Not only, did we discuss some good fashion advise… we served up a lot of fun!  Members of InForum and their guests started the evening off with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.  They were also treated to a Laura Mercier makeup event – with 6 makeup artists in store – there were many “Flawless Faces” (Laura Mercier’s fall marketing campaign) by the end of the evening.  Lafeyette 148, one of the sponsors for the event, sent in great suiting and a beautiful assortment of white blouses for our women who need business attire in the workplace.  And, of course, to complete a perfect evening….there was shopping!!!

Just wanted to share with you some pictures of our makeup team on location last night at The B.O.B.   Goodwill Industries does this great runway presentation where they show clothing from their stores paired up with  new apparel from local retailers.  This is our second year being invited to do makeup for all of the models as well as give touch ups to the guests attending.  Our makeup artists, Rachel Leep-Williams, Emily Nurmikko and Mandi Lehman, used Laura Mercier makeup on all of the moels….they looked fab!!  This was such a great event benefiting a wonderful orgainzation.  Leigh’s was proud to be a part of it!

Mandi Lehmann, our Laura Mercier make-up artist, is back at Leigh’s!  We are hosting an open house to welcome her back this Friday from noon – 4pm.  She would love to show you LM’s new “Club Couture” – fabulous!  Also, we will be serving refreshments and giving complimentary paraffin treatments and hand massages….I may have to sneak in and get one for myself – I love paraffin treatments!!  See you tomorrow!

I would like to introduce you to our new on-site Laura Mercier make-up artist, Emily Nurmikko.  Emily is fabulous!   She will be at our store 3 days a week,  you can stop in or schedule an appointment  to consult with her on your Laura Mercier cosmetic needs.  I sat in her chair and had her do my make-up, wow, I was so impressed.  Not only did she do amazing make-up on me, she also recommended a few new items that she thought would work well for me…. and she was right.  I love the new products I got – they’re  so great!   Hope you can stop by to see her soon!

Leigh’s was rockin’ last night! We had Laura Mercier’s Face to Face event going strong with some of Laura’s premier artists. Joe DeVries had hoppin’ with music.

Steve was here from Bar Divani making fabulous drinks. We had models showcasing looks from Pamella Roland’s fall 2009 collectioin. Designer Pamella DeVos made a personal appearance. It was so much fun!!! We all stayed late and had a blast! We love our customers and we were so happy to see all the new faces in our store….welcome!

Ellen Taylor from the Todd Chance Radio Show on 105.3 HotFM came to see us at Leigh’s today. Carol Slomp gave her a fabulous make-over using Laura Mercier cosmetics. Ellen loved her “smokey eye” that Carol created. It was so great to have her in our store – she is upbeat, fun and has the most gorgeous skin known to mankind! Ellen is the voice on our new radio commercial we are airing for our Laura Mercier “Face to Face” make-up event on May 28 & 29. She wanted to come in and check out the product herself. Everyone enjoyed a fun “girl’s night out” last night at our Wine, Women and What to Wear. Patrick Plank discussed the best in new spring trends. Our beautiful models, Anna, Sam, Anda and Senika looked amazing in all of their different fashion looks as well as showing the latest in spring make-up trends from YSL, Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier. We also hosted trunk shows from Prada eye wear, Mycra Pac & Prosecco NYC. Thank you to all of our customers for joining us. We appreciate you shopping locally with us!

What an amazing event Couture For A Cure was today!  Some 175 guest attended the fashion show hosted by Dave and Carol Van Andel and Leigh’s.  It featured the best of fall from Leigh’s and a sneak peek at Ruffian’s 2009 spring collection.  Today’s event was to raise funds for important research and science education at the Van Andel Institute.  It was held in the grand gallery of their facility.  Huntington Bank was the lead sponsor.  Guests enjoyed Naya’s bag lunches around bistro tables, were able to get their make-up touched up at the Laura Mercier table and purchased raffle tickets for a beautiful brooch from Hoffman Jewelers. Then everyone took their seats and were treated to a New York style runway show!  Great fashion!  Great Food!  Great Fundraiser!
