I would like to introduce you to our new on-site Laura Mercier make-up artist, Emily Nurmikko.  Emily is fabulous!   She will be at our store 3 days a week,  you can stop in or schedule an appointment  to consult with her on your Laura Mercier cosmetic needs.  I sat in her chair and had her do my make-up, wow, I was so impressed.  Not only did she do amazing make-up on me, she also recommended a few new items that she thought would work well for me…. and she was right.  I love the new products I got – they’re  so great!   Hope you can stop by to see her soon!

Leigh’s was rockin’ last night! We had Laura Mercier’s Face to Face event going strong with some of Laura’s premier artists. Joe DeVries had hoppin’ with music.

Steve was here from Bar Divani making fabulous drinks. We had models showcasing looks from Pamella Roland’s fall 2009 collectioin. Designer Pamella DeVos made a personal appearance. It was so much fun!!! We all stayed late and had a blast! We love our customers and we were so happy to see all the new faces in our store….welcome!

Ellen Taylor from the Todd Chance Radio Show on 105.3 HotFM came to see us at Leigh’s today. Carol Slomp gave her a fabulous make-over using Laura Mercier cosmetics. Ellen loved her “smokey eye” that Carol created. It was so great to have her in our store – she is upbeat, fun and has the most gorgeous skin known to mankind! Ellen is the voice on our new radio commercial we are airing for our Laura Mercier “Face to Face” make-up event on May 28 & 29. She wanted to come in and check out the product herself. Everyone enjoyed a fun “girl’s night out” last night at our Wine, Women and What to Wear. Patrick Plank discussed the best in new spring trends. Our beautiful models, Anna, Sam, Anda and Senika looked amazing in all of their different fashion looks as well as showing the latest in spring make-up trends from YSL, Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier. We also hosted trunk shows from Prada eye wear, Mycra Pac & Prosecco NYC. Thank you to all of our customers for joining us. We appreciate you shopping locally with us!

Meet Carol In Cosmetics!

We are pleased to introduce you to the newest member of our cosmetic team, Carol Slomp.  She is FABULOUS!!!  Carol is a licensed esthetician with five years of cosmetic counter experience.  She is a guru of make-up and can advise you on the best products to meet your needs.  And if her expertise wasn’t enough, her sense of humor will keep you coming back.  She is so much fun!  Make it a point to stop in to meet her, it will surely brighten your day!

What an amazing event Couture For A Cure was today!  Some 175 guest attended the fashion show hosted by Dave and Carol Van Andel and Leigh’s.  It featured the best of fall from Leigh’s and a sneak peek at Ruffian’s 2009 spring collection.  Today’s event was to raise funds for important research and science education at the Van Andel Institute.  It was held in the grand gallery of their facility.  Huntington Bank was the lead sponsor.  Guests enjoyed Naya’s bag lunches around bistro tables, were able to get their make-up touched up at the Laura Mercier table and purchased raffle tickets for a beautiful brooch from Hoffman Jewelers. Then everyone took their seats and were treated to a New York style runway show!  Great fashion!  Great Food!  Great Fundraiser!

Thursday was a big day at Leigh’s!!!!  We started the day off with our Laura Mercier make-up event featuring Global Make-up Artist Luis Soto.  As the day progressed, anticipation ran high for our cocktail reception in which Designer Pamella DeVos of Pamella Roland and Nigel Barker (noted fashion photographer and judge on America’s Next Top Model)  arrived to meet and greet with our customers!  Leigh’s was rockin’!  We had a male model greeting guests at the door, a DJ mixing music for us, Erika’s Deli Bistro Market served fabulous drinks and hors d’oeuvres, Laura Mercier make-up artists were giving everyone fresh fall looks, Cynthia Rose and Pamella Roland chiffon gown collection trunk shows for everyone to view and then there was Nigel totally game for taking pictures with Leigh’s customers and friends.  I’ve been getting e-mail after e-mail on how much fun everyone had and what a great party it was!!  I have lots more pictures than I’m showing, so if you want to have yours, just stop by the store and I’ll have them ready by Monday afternoon.  Thanks to everyone for attending and making it a successful event!

This is Mandi, our in-store Laura Mercier make-up artist.  She actually works for Laura Mercier and Laura Mercier has her in store at Leigh’s on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 11am- 5pm.  She also travels to Detroit to assist the Laura Mercier counters at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks.  She is a licensed cosmetologist and has extensive training by Laura Mercier.   Mandi is here for you, our customer!  She can help you with new colors, show you great application techniques and help you select the best Laura Mercier products for your skin type and desired look.                                                                                                                                                          Mandi will be hosting a Laura Mercier Flawless Skincare Event on August 13 and 15 at Leigh’s in which she will be giving complimentary facials to introduce you to Laura Mercier Skincare.  Call Mandi or Paulette today to book your appointment (616.942.6300)!
